For majority if not all of my relaxed years my hair was my beauty. I spent a good portion of my Saturdays at a salon making sure it stayed "Layed". Although my hair was healthy and long I wanted a change. And so began my transition. The transition process was generally easy. Cutting off the relaxer however was a struggle. I transitioned for about 13 months. And although my new growth made me smile letting go of the relaxer was difficult because my hair wouldn't be long anymore. One evening I took a pair of scissors and my life changed. Freedom became me. I gained a new confidence in myself. I was no longer the girl with the long hair. I was Kristel!
