I decided to go natural in February of 2011. I was natural for almost 23 years of my life; however, I mainly wore my hair pressed or blown out. In an effort to decrease frizz, I asked my stylist at the time for suggestions. She suggested a keratin treatment and informed me it would wash out after a few months. After hearing that it wouldn't be permanent, I went for it. After over a year, the keratin treatment had not washed out and was growing out from the root like a relaxer. I decided to grow my hair for an additional five months and then did a big chop. I have truly enjoyed my natural hair journey and after almost three years, I would never turn back.
