It all started when I reached middle school. Natural wasn't cool and my braids with beads were close to expiration. I was in the sixth grade when my mom slapped the creamy crack on my scalp and it stayed like that until the ninth grade. In those 4 years my hair NEVER went past the bottom of my neck. Talk about low self esteem. I know I'm not the only one who had to tilt their head to the side to make their hair look longer. Haha...I can laugh about it now. Why? Because I have been natural for 1 year and 6 months and (when stretched) my hair reaches past my neck. I take more pictures and my self esteem has rocketed... Thank you Jesus for change :). I also recently learned how to put braids in my hair so I'm expecting a lot of growth now. #ThanksAgainJesus
